Windows 10 Mail App

I'm slowly weening myself off of Windows and turning to Linux, yet, I still use Windows 10 Mail app to retrieve my mail.

Since the last major update of Window 10, one of the most annoying things is the scrollbar to scroll up and down through an email. This is the scrollbar to the right of email. The scrollbar is too thin. I have a horrible time clicking it just right, so that I can scroll down with it.

Mail has so few settings. I just wondered if there is a way to increase its thickness.

Creating a USB flash drive with menus help files

Hi I have created some usb flash drives using various programs you have shown on YouTube. None are letting me do what I would like. I want to have some iso but also want some help file / how to files on the stick. I also want a background for the main menu, different background for the help files. Also,perhaps, a Windows PE Install to run a radio cps file for programming with 5ne stick. Which of the programs would be best for that? Can you give me an idea of how to set it up?

Error Code 0x80070013 Windows 10??

I have a question about this error code -- 0x80070013 that I received this every week after the backup completed. I am not using Windows 10 backup and used another program with NTI Backup Now EZ 4 that come with the external hard drive that I have is Toshiba Canvio 2 TB. I setup the backup every Sunday while I am at church. My question is why is that message popped up every Sunday after I clicked " Backup did not complete " Well I did check to see my back up with the date on external hard drive and the job was done with no problem. Should I ignore this or need to be fixed.

Let me know about this and what should I do to correct the problem.

SOFTWARE NOT AUTO ACTIVATING IN WINDOWS 10

I have a very different problem I am trying to figure out. I have 2 friends of mine that have Biofeedback systems on their laptop computers. Software and Scio boxes for medical treatments.

The software is Clasp 64 from ScioEductor.com. Both ladies have 2 laptop computers each with the software on both of them. A HP with a i5 processor and a Lenovo with a i3 processor, both working fine.

They both have Asus Gaming computers different model numbers but same i7 processors, graphics and ram, just different hard drives.
The Asus GL703VM-BH71-cb works fine too, the Asus GL703VM-DB74 does all programs but a Disease Directory program that is installed and auto activated when the Clasp 64 program installed and activated. The Disease Directory program is installed in “C:” drive separate from the Clasp 64 program.

When the lady tries to run the Disease program within the Clasp 64 program, she gets a massage saying it needs to be activated.

Here is what I have tried:

I have tried a clean install with only Windows 10, 1703 and no other software on it and still same results.
Also, the Clasp 64 is downloaded, installed and activated live from the Scio Eductor website.

The one thing I did stumble upon, is that none of the computers would run all of its programs in Clasp 64 until I Reinstalled Windows 10, 1703 Version (all updates included). With newer versions of Windows 10 the Clasp 64 program would not run all programs including Disease Directory.

Here are the specs for the Asus laptops. (All Driver updates Installed)

I have never posted before, so I apologize for writing a small book.
If you have any ideas why this one Asus is not activating the Disease program I would really appreciate your thoughts.

Upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 10, windows installation failed

Hello i have a laptop with windows 8 and want to upgrade to windows 10 by the media creation tool after going though the steps of downloading and installing the upgrade with keeping personal files and apps when it says restarting it dose not restart and the blue windows 10 setup window goes away and a white text box pops up saying windows installation had failed and dose not give a error code 

i have tried multible times by the media tool with updating it and with out downloading the update i have also used a ISO Disk from the same tool and still fails 

i have disabled any start up 3rd party programs 
i have uninstalled 3rd party anti-virus applications and have no language packs or pluged in peripherals

i want to upgrade and dont want a clean install please help

Hello everyone, i'm John. I joined this forum because I am a fan of Britec and I thought this forum would be useful for general questions. I am 31 and I am also from the UK, I love everything to do with computers and i'm currently searching for a job in IT. What I would really like to do as a job in a pen tester (penetration tester) someone who tests websites for vulnerabilities, because I know someone who does this and he tells me that it is a really good and fun job to have.

I look forward to meeting like-minded IT enthusiasts to have discussions with, I'm glad to be here.

Windows critical processes

Hello

I have recently been exploring the different processes that are running on my computer using a program called Process Hacker which lists every process that is currently running including the ones that are usually hidden by default. A few days ago, I mistakenly ended a process called csrss.exe, which caused my computer to crash and take me to the " Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart" screen. Upon rebooting the computer everything was back to normal and running as it should be, but this got me thinking. With Process Hacker you can select more than 1 process and terminate them at the same time, so what would happen if I were to select every process currently running on my computer and terminate them all at the same time? If I were to guess I would say that this would not go down too well, since there is a process running called "CrashHandler", which tells the computer what to do next after crashing and i'm guessing that taking away the computer's ability to run the crash handler would turn my computer into an expensive paperweight maybe?

I would l love to read some opinions on this from people that know more about this stuff than I do.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Registry tweaks - Risky?

Hello

So I have been watching a lot of videos on YouTube lately about registry tweaks, and I was wondering if anybody here would be able to provide any information about this. I would like to tweak the registry on my computer to make it run faster, improving graphics and I would like to change the windows logo to my own custom logo. Is doing this taking a big risk for someone who has never done this before? What are the pros and cons of doing this? I have been into the registry with regedit a number of times, and honestly I find the registry to be quite intimidating in a weird sort of way, probably due to the fact that I know if I mess anything up there it's game over for my computer, and I guess all those words in all caps too.

So is there anybody who will be able to tell me more about making tweaks to the registry? I would really appreciate any advice you can provide.

In my event viewer the error "Failed extract of third-party root list from auto update cab" shows up over 50 times. it shows the download link but when the file is downloaded its a zip file with a certificate and i havent had to deal with anything of that sort but i was hoping you guys can help me fix it.

Boot MGR is missing

As my title suggests I'm have difficulties in correcting a boot mgr is missing error. Resulting in the dell computer I'm working on not booting up. The computer has Windows 7 home premium installed.

I've researched all of the videos that Brian has created. Followed them carefully and still get the same result.

I'm at my wits end as to how to proceed. The client is a writer and has a non backed up book on the OS he is working on which is the cause for concern.

I've followed the direction to repair, fix mbr. fix boot and other commands that Brian has listed in his videos regarding correcting this problem. I've followed direction on Brians video about how to set the Primary partition to active. Still no joy.

I've tried all of the auto repair options when using the Windows install media which was again unsuccessful.

I've used the suggestion to use Hirens boot cd to open Windows xp to follow the video Brian has re this topic followed it carefully and at the commands that were given the end result showed they had been successfully accomplished.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Your Windows License will Expire soon on ALL computers I use

Good evening:

I have been seeing this error on all machines that I use at work, and sometimes at home on my netbook. The problem is that windows 10 pro IS activated with a PRO key, and it keeps coming back.

It seems that the way that they want you to do a fix on this is to DISABLE Windows Update and couple other things. Why does this occur? Is this something that is like a virus? I have NEVER had a problem with activation or licenses, so I wonder if I can "rip out" that function and have windows 10 continue to work with its current key.

I have tried about 8 ways to fix this, and I wish that they worked, including a video on youtube by Timster - I think he did something out of sequence, but regardless of this, this warning is NOT accurate and I need to NIX it - wondering if Britec can do a video on how to fix this, that works?

Windows 10 Pro OEM key

Hello,
last month I purchased a Win 10 Pro OEM Key from zero&nine using the Britec discount code and was watching todays Britec video about upgrading Win 10 Home to 10 Pro

I am not planning to use my Win10 Pro OEM key to do this, as I have other plans for it involving a new build, however...

I dont fully grasp the OEM concept, and would like to improve my understanding, can someone help out with these 3 questions please

1..if I tried to use this Win 10 Pro OEM key with my existing Win10 home OEM key what would happen?

2..if it proceeded like the video and changed it to win 10 Pro, have I lost my existing Win 10 Home key for good?

3.. is the validity of the OEM key to do with the drive, BIOS or the motherboard?

The application was unable to start Correctly

Hi Guys,
After installing a new WD Hard drive,
I've now run into an issue with an error code
"The application was unable to start Correctly" (error code 0xc0000142).
The error code takes almost 5 minutes to post after booting up going to a dialogue box with this error.

I've been through tutorials talking about Intel update drivers issues which I've followed which didn't help.
I went to programs and uninstalled the INTEL update drivers program
Still have the code.

I've run the SFC using the system file checker still have the error code.
I've run DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

I reinstalled Windows 7 keeping all files and folders.
Updated all updates.

System completed all processes perfectly.
still error code.

Folder permissions problem

Hello

I have been trying to access a folder to view and change the contents of it, but i'm having some trouble. When I open the folder i'm trying to view the contents of it tells me that the folder is empty, which I'm pretty sure is not empty I just don't have permission to view the contents of it. I have tried going to "view" and turning on hidden folders but that does nothing, and I've tried right-clicking it to open the properties of the folder and adding myself to the list of people who have permissions to read & write to the folder but it still says empty. The folder that I am trying to view is the .Minecraft folder so I can change certain aspects of the game by editing the JSON files but I cannot view what's in the folder. I don't see a folder anywhere else on my computer by that name, except a mods folder but that is not the main game folder and editing this makes no changes to the game.

If anybody can tell me how to fix this I would really appreciate any advice you have.
